Getting to know Madelyn Holmes Photographics

What inspired you to become a photographer?
In high school, I found an interest in photography and spent much of my weekends tinkering with a camera I ‘borrowed’ from Dad. With encouragement from my parents, teachers and a local photography group, I got offered my first paid job and found great joy in capturing such important milestones and life events for my clients. Photographs are one of few things that become more valuable with time.
What do you love most about being involved in the wedding industry?
Central Queensland has such a fantastic community of wedding vendors who all take great pride in their work and go above and beyond for their couples. I’m so glad to be part of it!
What trends are you seeing right now in your segment of the wedding industry?
Colour!
It is so wonderful to see pops of colour for florals, wedding attire and styling decor coming back into style. Whether you go with pastels or bright tones, it is so much fun to capture the wider variety of colours currently trending.
What can the couple do to help you make their wedding day run as smoothly as possible?
Consult your photographer before you finalise a wedding day timeline! There are so many factors that will affect how your wedding timeline is best planned. For example, number of guests, photo locations, sunset time etc. So, don’t confirm a ceremony or reception time until you have taken these into consideration.
How would you describe your signature photographic style?
I’m a lover of adventurous people, beautiful places and bright colour. My style is very distinct as I focus on creating colourful, romantic imagery and I’m not afraid to get adventurous for the sake of a capturing a great photo.
