Getting to know Carte Stationery

Creativity, Customisation, Excitement

What do you love most about working in the wedding industry?

I love getting to see all the different wedding styles that my clients come up with, but I also love being apart of the excitement of it all!

What is your favourite ‘look’ right now?

Right now, I’m loving colourful invitations or stationery, with the special touch of a custom illustration.

I’m also loving the trend of different shape place cards, like a lemon or a bow.

Are you a fan of gift registries?

I think gone are the days where people give gifts at weddings. A lot of couples are opting for a wishing well to save for their honeymoon or future.

Alternatively, our etched wine glasses are a perfect keepsake!

Can you tell us about some hot trends you’re seeing?

  • A gift that is trending now for the couple, whether it be a wedding, engagement or anniversary gift, is etched wine glasses with the couple’s names and wedding date. We offer this service on our website, too!
  • Custom illustrations are big at the moment!
  • I have also come across ‘logos’ for the couple that are displayed on signage and stationery, both before the day and on the day.
  • Bows are trending BIG TIME! We have digital templates on our Etsy page and the one that is getting the most love right now is our Bow Save The Date. Go check it out if you’re interested.

Julia’s top tips for planning your wedding stationery are…

  • Have a rough idea of what you want your stationery to look like from the beginning – this is crucial to helping the process be stress-free and for the look to be consistent.
  • There are many different factors that can change the price on our end. For example, it costs more to die-cut a shape (such as if you want a wave or an arch). It also costs more to create stationery with white ink on cardstock. Having a clear idea of what you are after from the start can help eliminate these unexpected costs.
  • When it comes to choosing colours for your stationery, we like to know what you are planning to do with your florals, for example, as this can help us with the stationery design. We either compliment or contrast your chosen styling elements, like florals, for the day.

When we heard about Carte Stationery’s audio guest book, we had to check it out, and we were not disappointed. It allows guests to record a personalised message for the couple, instead of the traditional hand-written note – how cool is that?!

We absolutely love Julia’s creative and gorgeous stationery, signs and gifts. Thank you for joining our vendor community, Julia!
