What do you love most about being involved in the wedding industry?

The thing I love most about the wedding industry is working with the brides, and the happiness I see in people. As I’m usually one of the first ones to arrive for an early start, my favourite moment is when the bride and her bridal party awake for the big day ahead.

What is your favourite ‘look’ right now?

My favourite look right now is one that is classic and elegant.

What advice can you give couples when they are choosing someone to pamper or style them on their special day?

Choose someone you feel comfortable with, as they will be a part of your special wedding experience.

What tips do you have for brides when trying to pick hair and makeup to match their outfit or overall ‘look’?

• Ask your stylists questions and for recommendations.
• Think about your wedding theme so your stylists can create a looked based on your theme.
• Look for inspiration on the internet or in bridal magazines.
• Remember, it’s your day, so pick your ultimate style.

Insider bridal beauty tips from Michelle include…

• Skin treatments and skincare is often a popular bridal preparation must. If you are considering skin treatments before your wedding, it’s a good idea to have these done a few months beforehand.
• Once you are happy with your skin condition, keep a good skincare routine. Don’t make any sudden changes to your skincare routine leading up to your wedding day.
• A natural spray tan and false nails are also a popular preparation service 1 or 2 days before your wedding.
• Have a Beauty Bridesmaid (BBM) who will be responsible for bringing a can of hairspray, a small comb, blotting papers, pressed powder, deodorant and bobby pins. If a touch up is required, your BBM will have everything ready.
• The bridal party should avoid skin contact, so no cheek kissing, touching your face etc.
• Keep yourself cool throughout the day and evening. Makeup has great staying power but keeping your skin cool will assist in the longevity of your results.
• Relax and enjoy the moment!
