What do you love most about being involved in the wedding industry?
I love being a part of a bride’s special day. I enjoy spending the morning with the bride and her friends and family. It is such a joy to create my bride’s dream hair! My favourite moment is when the whole look comes together, and she sees herself as a bride for the first time.
What is your favourite ‘look’ right now?
I love a low bun. These can be smooth and classic or textured and boho!! I also love an undone high bun or ponytail.
What is your favourite moment in a couple’s wedding day preparation?
I love when the bride sees herself at the preview and feels the excitement of what is about to come on her wedding day.
When choosing a hairstylist for their special day, what advice do you have for couples?
- Have a look at the artists work and choose someone whose style and vibe you love. This will ensure you get the look you are after.
- You want someone who offers you all the support you need leading up to your big day.
Kelli’s top tips for fabulous hair on your wedding day…
- Choose hair inspiration pictures that you love and would feel comfortable in.
- As a specialist, your hairstylist will be able to personalise your chosen look to have elements of your wedding style/theme.
- Hair preparation is really important for your big day. You want to have your hair looking and feeling it’s best. Products (such as shampoo, conditioners and treatments) that are prescribed just for your hair type is the perfect way to get ready for your wedding.
- Think about organising hair extensions, if you need them.
- As a hairstylist, I feel like hair preparation is the most important way to ensure your hair stays all day. I use the best products and techniques to make sure your hair lasts all day and into the night.
- A tip for the day is to make sure all the dress steaming and running around is done before hair and makeup, so, your hair doesn’t get frizzy from the steam or from being hot or windblown!
