4 Amazing Honeymoon Spots in the Whitsundays Islands

If you’re a bride or groom from Queensland, why would you go any further than our own backyard for a luxurious and romantic honeymoon? We have hand-picked four of the best accommodation providers in the Whitsunday Islands to tempt you to pack your swimsuit and jump on that plane.

What do couples look for in a honeymoon?

What do newlyweds look for in a honeymoon destination? I guess the answer to that question is that we’re all different. However, most people we know crave privacy and a romantic setting at the bare minimum. After all the busyness of wedding planning, couples typically just want to relax.

I’ve done my research and presented you with the four best options for a Whitsunday Islands honeymoon. They are all romantic, luxurious and special in their own way. Happy reading!

*Note, rates listed are valid as at 1 October, 2021 and are quoted per couple.

1. Elysian Retreat, Long Island

I might be a bit biased when it comes to Elysian, owned by a Queensland family-run operation called Sojourn Retreats. Having stayed there in September for my own honeymoon, I can assure you that it’s beyond amazing! As much as I want to keep it a secret, Elysian Retreat is simply too good not to share.

2. Qualia, Hamilton Island

Without a doubt, the best way to honeymoon (or even holiday, for that matter!) at Hamilton Island is by treating yourself to a few nights of high-end serenity at Qualia. Located on the northernmost part of the 740-hectare island, Qualia allows you to get away from the hustle and bustle of Catseye Beach and the marina. Why not indulge in the award-winning experience Qualia has to offer?
