5 Rainy Day Tech-Free Activity Ideas for Couples

It is way too easy to fall into the trap of binge-watching Netflix on a rainy day, so we've brought you fun, romantic things you and your loved one can do until the sun shines again.

Feeling cooped up with all this rain going on outside? We’ve got you.

With days and days of rain, you’re probably feeling a bit tired of being stuck indoors. Why not use this time as an opportunity to get closer to your special someone?

So, switch off that TV, put your phone on silent and tune in to your partner with these tech-free, at-home date activities.

Game On

UNO, Monopoly, Pictionary, Scrabble or maybe Trivial Pursuit?

Playing a board or card game can be a fun way to spend some tech-free time together, even if it is a little bit competitive! The laughs will be worth it.

Get Puzzled

Puzzles can be a great way to idle away a few hours, but best of all, they have you working together as a team. Woo!

Dream Away…

What’s more romantic than dreaming about your future together?

Grab out a journal or notebook and reflect on how far you’ve come, what you hope to achieve in the future and how you will get there. Shared goals bring you closer together and give you something positive to work towards. They also act as a motivator when times get tough.

Story Time!

Whether it’s a romance novel, thrilling narrative or even something educational, reading to each other is another cosy rainy-day activity.

It could be a book you’re reading at the moment that you love, or one of your favourites from long-ago. Either way, sharing stories with your partner helps them learn more about you and is another great tech-free activity.

Flickering Lights

Nothing says romance more than the flickering lights of candles! Grab a few out of the cupboard, place them around the house, turn off the lights and enjoy an evening of each other’s company.

Talk about your favourite memories together, tell stories of times before you met, ask questions you don’t normally have time for or simply just sit back, relax and enjoy the peaceful serenity of rain sounds, candle light and a cosy snuggle with your one and only.
