Getting to know Dreamy Fields Photography

Easy-Going, Humour, Calm

What inspired you to become a wedding photographer?

I absolutely love seeing the beauty within everything and everyone! It makes us appreciate what we have and how beauty is everywhere around us.

I love capturing pure moments between couples. These absolutely set my heart on fire in those candid and intimate moments.

What do you love most about being involved in the wedding industry?

They are fun! Exciting! Intimate! And absolutely stunning. All of these things combined, I don’t know how anyone could not love being involved in the wedding industry.

What is your favourite moment to capture on a couple’s wedding day and why?

So many! The first look. The first kiss. The first dance. And, of course, golden hour bridal party images.

These all have such great meaning and to see the look on each person’s face during these moments is just gorgeous. I capture the time that stood still in that moment, when the couple only have eyes for each other, like no one is watching.

Can you tell us about the most memorable wedding you have captured?

The most memorable wedding captured is one recently actually. The bride and groom released white doves straight after their ceremony, followed by their guests. Each person was given a chance to release one as well. It was a stunning day; a little overcast but the doves just made the moment just that bit more special. This bride and groom also got the guests to do sand pouring. Each person was given a different colour sand and they poured it into a vase, followed by the bride and groom who did the same.

The reason behind these great extras was that the couple had been together for 7 years and had two children, however their relationship was not approved by either families for a long time. On the wedding day, one of the families still didn’t attend because they still didn’t approve, so this was the couple’s way of saying goodbye to the past and moving on to the future.

It really touched my heart that they had fought for togetherness for so long and they finally got it!

What can the couple do to help you make their wedding day run as smoothly as possible?

I recommend that they have an order of service and a list of specific images that they would love captured, for example with particular guests.

Thank you for sharing your stunning, emotion-fuelled images with us, Nikki. We particularly love the golden hour shots!
